Above is a screen shot of a simple mastering environment inside “Record”, a recording platform that I’ve fallen in love with. I’m currently working on mixes of 12 new tracks, most of which are instrumentals, that I’m hoping to finish within a week or so.
Been up to all kinds of fun in Record. I’m currently using automation to control a few faders that contain some ambient textures. These tracks are also hitting a 3 second delay, so by riding the automated faders, I “perform the tracks to tape” ala the King Tubby dub style. This is a remarkably fruitful and simple method of capturing ambient chord “clusters” which fade off beautifully.
Safe to say that these tracks are fairly odd?
